06.07.2026. Our subsidiary IFO had the honour of welcoming His Excellency Michel Djombo, Minister of Industrial Development, Special Economic Zones and Private Sector Promotion, to its Ngombé site as part of his official mission to the Sangha Department.
For IFO Managing Director Patrick GEFFROY (above), who welcomed Minister Djombo and his delegation:
'This visit was an opportunity to present our entire wood processing chain: the main sawmill, the heavy-duty timber sawmill, the kilns, our processing plants — including a 9,000 m² finger-jointed laminated timber and decking workshop — as well as our storage units and innovative container-loading system.'
Beyond the facilities themselves, the visit highlighted a shared ambition: to make Ngombé a genuine industrial timber hub, capable of creating more added value locally, strengthening Congolese skills and supporting the emergence of new industrial activities.
Competitive energy, training, the business environment, attracting investors to the Ngombé SEZ, developing higher value-added products and other wood-based solutions: discussions focused on concrete levers to accelerate the local processing of Congo’s forest resources.
For IFO, this visit reaffirms the importance of continuous dialogue between public authorities, industrial operators and local territories.
Processing more locally, investing in skills, creating sustainable jobs and showcasing Congolese know-how: this is the way ahead.
