01.12.2023. Wood is a crucially important material for ensuring a sustainable future. This is the opinion of 700 key players in the global timber industry, including representatives of governments, companies, international organisations and research bodies, who gathered at the Global Legal and Sustainable Timber Forum (GLSTF) in Macao SAR, China, on 21–22 November 2023.

16.08.2023. Climate and biodiversity are closely intertwined. Climate change is one of the main drivers of biodiversity loss, while ecosystem destruction contrasts nature’s ability to regulate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, precipitating climate change. Just as supply chains must become deforestation-free by 2025 if the Paris Agreement climate goals are to be met, ZSL’s SPOTT (Sustainability Policy Transparency Toolkit) found that there is much the private sector can do.
09.08.2023. The housing sector is undergoing profound changes: urban concentration, high land prices, climate change... energy renovation is also one of the issues we have to face. The challenge for project managers: to imagine how to expand existing housing without upsetting the codes. Our answer: engineered wood that is certified sustainable (Forest Stewardship Council, FSC® C022952) and technically reliable (CTB-LCA, KOMO).
19.07.2023. Times are changing: building sustainably and responsibly is no longer a desire but a requirement (RE2020). The supply of raw materials is becoming more difficult and costs are rising, all of which is driving the construction industry to design differently.
We have the solution: glulam and finger-jointed timber.
29.06.2023. In Congo Brazzaville, public schools offer primary tuition for free. Finding quality tuition aid materials, however, is not as straightforward. Especially in the wake of the pandemic. Earlier this year, leading wood importer GLOBAL TIMBER (Denmark) made room to read in the IFO library, run by INTERHOLCO’s subsidiary Industrie Forestière de Ouesso (IFO) in the village of Ngombé.

Interholco is proud to announce that, since September 2022, its engineered wood product line is KOMOⓇ certified, K-33417 for finger-jointed wood products and K-33418 for three-ply laminated scantlings, respectively. Engineered wood is known to be particularly stable and has increasingly attracted attention even for structural applications. Interholco is no beginner as it holds more than 10 years of experience in fingerjointed wood production.
