10.03.2017. Ever longed to take a trip to the Congo Basin and its natural wonders? Now you can: turn on your television and see what makes African wood products different!
On Saturday 18 March, on the occasion of International Day of Forests, ARTE France will broadcast our production site IFO in two films. At 13h30, Congo, 'Un nouveau pacte avec la forêt' [Congo, a new deal with the forest] will show the open dialogue that IFO has put in place with the local communities and the attention it pays to their needs. At 00h05, managing the forest responsibly pays off, as keeping the forests alive means that the gorilla may continue to live in their natural habitat: 'Gorilles du Congo, Sauvetage à la tronçonneuse' [Gorilla in Congo, Chainsaw to the rescue].
The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 21 March the International Day of Forests (IDF) in 2012. The Day celebrates and raises awareness of the importance of all types of forests.
Take a chance to see what sustainability really means: for the local population, for the environment with its fauna and flora and for IFO itself, with the FSC® market label:
