21.10.2019. On the occasion of the international Forum: Together Towards Global Green Supply Chains, to be held in Shangai on 22 and 23 October 2019, INTERHOLCO is delighted to present Dutch writer Meindert Brouwer’s description of INTERHOLCO’s production site in Chinese.
The account followed the writer’s visit to the Republic of Congo and forms one of the chapters of ‘Central African Forests Forever’, a must-read for anyone wishing to familiarise themselves with sustainability in the Congo Basin.
An initiative of the forest industry in partnership with the International Tropical Timber Organisation (ITTO), the international Forum Together Towards Global Green Supply Chains is co-organised by the China Timber & Wood Products Distribution Association (CTWPDA), the Centre for International Forest Products Trade (CINFT) of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration of China (NFGA) and the International Tropical Timber Technical Association (ATIBT).
Gathering between 350 and 400 participants, the Forum intends to promote the advancement of legal and sustainable supply chains which will incentivize good production practices, contribute to responsible purchasing practices while also leading to additional benefits of poverty alleviation, creation of employment, economic growth, income generation etc. whilst complementing climate change mitigation.
Our best wishes to the participants for productive and fruitful working sessions!
